Weston Conservative’s Deputy Chair meets Stanley Johnson at Conservative Women’s Organisation AGM

Weston-super-Mare Conservative Association’s Deputy Chair (Political) and President of the South Conservative Women’s Organisation, Sonia Russe, joined CWO Chairman, Cllr. Linda Vijeh, and guest Stanley Johnson at the CWO AGM at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster this week.

Stanley, who had a made a flying visit from London, gave an amusing account of his time in ‘The Jungle’, and the fact that this has at last gained him a greater level of notoriety than his son Boris.

Dressed all in blue for the occasion, LindaVijeh said, ‘In addition to some other splendid speakers, including Dr. Alexander Priest, who gave a thought provoking talk about mental health, MP Marcus Fysh, who spoke about the part that women had played in his success, Sam Smethers, CEO of The Fawcett Society, the key lobby organisation dedicated to ensuring gender inequality remains at the top of the political agenda, and also Alison Hernandez, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly, we were delighted to have Stanley provide this light-hearted interlude. He has charisma in bucket loads. I was pleased that attendance this year was high, and included several local councillors.’
