Meet Lord Archer at Weston’s Winter Gardens

Join us for an exceptional talk followed by an auction of highly collectable items hosted by the remarkable Lord Archer. A master of story-telling and a best-selling author, his books are simply one aspect of what has been a distinctly colourful life. Lord Archer walked the corridors of power at Westminster for many years and was for a time at the heart of the Conservative Party.

Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare is the former Chairman of the Conservative Party and was a close friend of the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher. As an amateur auctioneer he has raised millions of pounds for charity and is a prolific and discerning art collector. His books are published in 97 countries and in over 37 languages; Jeffrey Archer is firmly established with international sales exceeding 270 million copies. He is the only author ever to have been a number one bestseller in fiction (eighteen times), short stories (four times) and non-fiction (The Prison Diaries). His novels have been turned into screen plays and TV dramas.

The venue for this exciting event is the multi-million pound recently refurbished Winter Gardens now renamed The Winter Gardens Pavilion, the inside of which includes an old Victorian ballroom retaining many of its original historic features. The outer facade of this beautiful building remains the same, however, and is the jewel in the crown, complimenting many other examples of late 19th/early 20th century architecture along Weston’s sea-front.

This special and unforgettable evening will take place on Friday 20th October 2017, commencing at 5.30pm and places are strictly limited.
